“The rules and deadline for training, instruction and testing of knowledge on safety and labor protection of employees” determine the following types of briefings:

1. Safety induction

A safety induction on safety and labor protection is carried out with employees regardless of their education, work experience in a given profession or position. For the purpose of labor safety, an safety and initial briefing on safety and labor protection is carried out with temporary workers, workers on business trip, trainee and students who arrived at the production site, training or practice. Also, safety induction is given to visitors when they visit production sites and employees of contracting organizations performing work on the territory of the organization’s hazardous production facility. Safety induction in the organization (enterprise) is carried out by the safety and labor protection service or by the person to whom these duties are assigned by order of the organization.

       2. Initial Briefing at the workplace

Initial briefing at the workplace prior to the start of production activities of employees is carried out by responsible employees.

Initial briefing at the workplace is carried out according to the programs developed and approved by the heads of the production and structural divisions of the organization, taking into account the requirements of safety standards, rules and instructions on safety and labor protection, as well as the requirements of the employer for the safe conduct of work in the workplace.

Initial briefing at the workplace is carried out individually with each employee with a practical demonstration of safe working practices.

       3. Refresher briefing

Refresher briefing is carried out for employees, regardless of qualifications, education, length of service, or the nature of the work performed, at least once every six months.

4. Extraordinary briefing

• upon the introduction of new or revised safety standards, rules, safety and labor protection instructions;
• when changing the technological process, replacing or modernizing equipment, fixtures and tools, raw materials, materials and other factors affecting labor safety;
• in case of violation by employees of labor safety requirements that may result or have led to injury, accident, explosion or fire, poisoning;
• at the request of controlling regulatory oversight bodies.

5. ToolBox Talk

Toolbox talk is carried out when performing one-time work that is not related to direct duties in the specialty (loading, unloading, housekeeping, one-time work outside the organization, factory workshops and areas), during the liquidation of the consequences of accidents, natural disasters and catastrophes.

On conducting an initial briefing at the workplace, refresher, extra training and admission to work, the employee who conducted the briefing shall make an entry in the register of briefing on safety and labor protection at the workplace with the mandatory signature of the instructed and instructing.

When registering an extra training briefing, indicating the reason for its implementation.

The briefing logs are issued numbered and laced up, and are handing over with signature to the direct managers of the work (foreman, factory workshop head) by the organization’s safety and labor protection service.

Toolbox Talk with employees, who is carrying out work with the permit to work is recorded in the permit to work or other documentation authorizing the work.
